Overview
Hiring your formal clothes through Clermont Direct Ltd is intended to be a simple and hassle free experience. We want to relieve that familiar and tedious traditional way of visiting your local menswear shop 3 times -(getting measured up, going to collect it and then taking it back again)! Below we have compiled a few notes on how our system works and how it will save you time and money. Please read the notes below before your order to familiarise yourself with how the process works.
Placing an Order
When you hire from Clermont Direct you are given a choice of hire period. The initial 14 days from the date of hire is FREE. If you know that you will need your items for longer (up to a maximum of 28 days) you may opt to pay an additional charge to extend this period of hire.
Expected Delivery Times
We despatch all items ordered before 12.00pm during the working week, that same day. We use The Royal Mail for all our deliveries and returns. You have the option to select either 2nd class, 1st class, or next working day delivery using Royal Mail Special Delivery. We strongly advise that you opt for either 1st class or Special Delivery, so that you may receive your clothes in good time to try them on before your event.
Deposit
At the checkout stages, just before you confirm your purchase, a deposit will be added to your bill. This is fully refundable upon receipt of the clothes back at our warehouse. Please note that we will inspect the clothes upon receipt for accidental damage. If the clothes received back are not damaged, your deposit will be be credited in full. If however they have been accidentally damaged, then we may only credit back your deposit less the cost of repair. To cover any accidental damage to your whole order, you can opt to pay £10 for our damage waiver.
Damage Waiver
Accidental damage to the clothes is covered by opting to pay an additional charge of £10. This covers accidental spillages of food and liquids on the clothes, soiling and minor accidental damage to the makeup and construction of the clothes.
Returning the clothes to us
Please note that we will require the clothes to be back with us within the time frame selected. We suggest therefore that if you have a party to attend at a weekend, you place your order the weekend before, thus allowing plenty of time for us to send you the clothes and for you to return them to us within the timeframe selected.
Included with your order will be a pre-paid envelope, to send all the hired items back to us in. When you have finished using them, please fold them up and pop them in the bag provided. You will then need to hand the package over at your local post office. Please obtain a proof of posting certificate from the Post Office which is available free of charge. Your items will usually be received back at our warehouse with 2 working days and upon receipt we will notify you by email. We will inspect them and pending that the items have just been worn and are not damaged, (see damage waiver notes above) we will refund your deposit in full. This can take up to 5 working days to appear back into your bank account.
Please note that we do not require the return of any shirts. All our shirts that are hired are Brand New and yours to keep. Feedback from our customers has indicated to us that they are very pleased to receive a new shirt within their hire purchase. This also has other key benefits. For example, if you were to re-order from us at a later date, you have the option of hiring without the additional cost of a shirt. It also means that we are confident that the condition of the hire items are of the highest standard that we can provide, and we dont have to launder them!
Exchanges
We recommend that when your order arrives, that you try on the clothes to ensure they fit you. If you feel you need a different size of any garment, and time allows, then please notify us asap by calling the following number 0845 6443541 and we will endeavour to despatch any replacement size to you in time for your event.
